Curling in Norway

Curling in Norway is making good progress and hosting the Le Gruyére European Curling Championships this year will support the progress and contribute to motivating existing curlers and to recruite new curlers.

Number of new ice rinks

New ice rinks are being built at several new locations throughout Norway. Sormarka Arena is one of these.

All these facilities will be of extreme importance to increase the growth of curling in Norway, but we also need international events such as The European Curling Championships to promote curling to new people.

There has been a significant growth in number of sheets of ice in Norway in recent years, as shown above, thanks to local initiatives from curling clubs and idealists, support from politicians at all levels (both local, regional and governmental) and with assistance from curlers in general and the Norwegian Curling Association.
